Hunter

Artemis' Reach#

Hunter lives on one meadow: Artemis' Reach, the green slope north of the bank plaza and west of the Great Temple. Click Hunter in the Skills tab, or ::hunter / ::artemis, and you land beside Artemis herself on the stone terrace at the west end. Talk-to her for Puro Puro and the shop; Trade opens Artemis' Hunting Supplies directly, priced in Dracma.

Every creature has its own corner of the meadow, and traps only work inside it:

The four techniques#

Technique	Tool	How it works
Snare	Bird snare	Lay it on the ground in the birds' corridor; a bird hops in. Collect the fallen snare if it fails.
Box trap	Box trap	Lay it near ferrets, chinchompas, piglets or rams; the box slams shut.
Net	Butterfly net or Magic butterfly net + Butterfly jar	Click the butterfly with a net in hand and a jar in your pack. The magic net never misses.
Falconry	Falconer's glove (or Eagle of Zeus glove for the Labours)	Click a kebbit, hind or lion cub; the falcon is loosed and resolves in three ticks.

• Traps you can hold: your Hunter level / 20 + 1 - two at level 20, five at 80, eight at 140 - plus one with the Stymphalian Plume Helm.
• Catch chance: 50% at the creature's own level, +1.5% per level above it, floor 40%, cap 95%. Larupia gear adds +2% a piece (+4% for all three); the Nemean Hide Cloak +10%.
• A set trap stands 200 ticks, a caught one 300, a failed one 100 (doubled by the Hind-leather Leggings). Walk more than 40 tiles away and the trap is lost - 80 with the cloak.
• Every catch pays Hunter xp, skilling cash and up to 50 Skilling Points an action, the highest ceiling of any gathering skill.

Puro Puro#

Talk to Artemis for a lift to Puro Puro, where implings from Baby (level 1) to Deluxe (98) are netted into impling jars and looted for the usual tables - Dragon at 83, Kingly at 91.

The Labours of Heracles, 99 - 150#

At 99 the north-east meadow opens. Six beasts out of the Labours and three god-implings run the skill to 150, each on the Olympian fishing xp curve. One yield per catch, 25-tick respawns - these are the Hunter half of every Relic of the Titanomachy recipe, sized at five to eight hours of hunting per relic.

The Eagle of Zeus glove is 10M Dracma at Artemis' shop and works on ordinary kebbits too. The Aetherium jar is 2,500 each.

What the yields are for#

• Sell them back to Artemis - feathers 1,500, antler shards 6,000, hides 8,000, fleeces 12,000, claws 20,000 Dracma each.
• Forge the Relics of the Titanomachy - every rung from Hyperion's Dawnshard to Zeus' Stormseal wants a stack of them: 6,000 bronze feathers, 1,000 antler shards, 400-600 hides, 600 fleeces, 600-700 lion claws depending on the relic. See Archaeology & the Relics.
• The phoenix chick's plume is a Herblore secondary (Hermes' Quickstep, Phoenix Tincture).

God-impling jars#

Loot a jar for a bundle from its god's domain - Ichor Motes and Forgemarks in bulk, runes, seeds, secondaries, a coffer or a bond, and a chance at an Olympian Talent Sigil:

The Poseidon and Hades jars are the only source of the Nereid pearl and Hephaestus ember secondaries.

Artemis' Hunter set#

Five pieces at 5,000 Skilling Points each from Athena's store, on their own models. Every piece adds +20% chance of a double catch - the full set doubles every catch - and each carries its own perk:

Stymphalian Plume Helm

+1 trap.

Fleece-lined Coat

+15% Hunter xp.

Hind-leather Leggings

Traps stand twice as long before they collapse.

Eagle-talon Gauntlets

Nets and falcons land in one tick instead of three.

Nemean Hide Cloak

+10% catch chance, and traps are only lost past 80 tiles.

Larupia camouflage (hat, top, legs - 100k Dracma a piece at Artemis) still gives its +2% catch chance per piece and +4% for the set, and stacks with the cloak.
